Real Madrid Vs Chelsea Player Ratings

Chelsea's hopes of snagging a first win in Madrid since 2001 were dashed as Real swept to an emphatic 2-0 victory. Karim Benzema opened the scoring on 21 minutes with a tap-in after Kepa Arrizabalaga couldn't quite get enough on Vinicius Junior's shot.

Fofana's nightmare began early when Vinicius drifted goalside of him and scored. Fortunately, the French youngster improved with each passing game; however, his early mistake will remain with him forever.

Karim Benzema

Over the past two seasons, Benzema has proven himself one of the greatest strikers in history and looks set to take home the Ballon d'Or in 2022/2023. Last season he scored 45 goals and provided 15 assists in 46 games, having a major influence on his team's success.

He has been an absolute terror in front of goal, often placing himself in the box without warning. This makes it difficult for even top goal keepers to make a save.

Dani Carvajal

Few players in Real Madrid's starting XI have faced as much scrutiny in recent seasons as Dani Carvajal. Yet on Wednesday he proved his worth against Chelsea by making an essential contribution to their 2-0 victory.

In a team with few defensive threats, it is hard to fault the Spaniard's performance. He helped Real Madrid contain any Chelsea chances and provided Vinicius Junior with an excellent ball that was then converted by Karim Benzema for a decisive lead.

This season, the 22-year-old has been an incredible star in the Champions League; however, he has also become yet another victim of racist abuse and bullying in Spain. Reports claim he was hoisted onto a bridge in January and has received racial taunts during several matches this season.

Vinicius Junior

Vinicius has proven to be an exceptional performer over the past two seasons, scoring 13 goals and dishing out eight assists in La Liga and Champions League alone, as well as making a significant impact on the field. His performances have been nothing short of incredible!

He is an impressive ball winner. His teammates rely on him to pass the ball out with assurance, often creating chances on the flanks. His confidence shines through during these crucial moments.

He is a real threat from the left wing and his ability to create difficulties for opponents in the box will be key tonight. He was instrumental in setting up the team's early goal and has already created four chances this season.

Toni Kroos

Vinicius has become an integral part of Real Madrid's success over the past two seasons, scoring six goals in 11 La Liga matches this year and sure to remain Wesley Fofana's nightmare for years to come.

Vinicius was constantly on the move, always trying to exploit space behind their opponents' full-backs and dribble towards goal. That often meant he was playing on the left side of Zidane's 4-3-3 formation.

He's been impressive in the centre, pairing with Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos. After being criticized last season, Kroos has started this season with remarkable control of the midfield which will be key during the second half of the season.

Luka Modric

Luka Modric has been one of the best players in the world for two seasons now and he took his form to another level on Tuesday night against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is an expert passer and mover, capable of getting in and out of the box with ease. Additionally, he understands how to link up with teammates and make crucial passes in the right areas.

Kepa nearly caught Real midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo off guard, but was unable to convert his shot and it was saved. This was an impressive display from Ronaldo and he will be key for Los Blancos in the final.
